While we still wait, Cupid stopped by.

No...she hasn't even left the middle east yet :( The one constant we have learned from being a military family is that EVERYTHING is subject to change at a moments notice, and we hurry up and wait.

No phone call the night before or most of the day yesterday and then I get a Facebook message that she is in the Manna's. Flight reset and with any hope, she will call tomorrow afternoon or evening. Fingers crossed and prayers restarted...we wait. She seems to be just fine, homesick and anxious, but keeping busy with her flight.

In the midst of all the waiting, I had to make a mad dash to find my David something for Valentine's and, as usual a couple if mushy cards, because I can never decide on one. Normally because he travels, we don't get to spend this holiday together and my cards & gifts would've been tucked away in his luggage. But, not this year!

I teach on Tuesday evenings and he originally requested that I take the evening off so we could sneak off to Murphin Ridge Inn and stay in the cabins. Snow in the morning & cold afternoon rain in the forecast and knowing the 2 day getaway would be wonderful was tempting. He has been working a lot lately, and has extra vacation time. So how romantic would it be...

It looks quite lovely, and he has been there several times for a work retreat and wanted to share. However, I thought about him and his needs to get away. So, we both decided to save the time, and use the extra days to really get away in March when Chelsea is home and head south with her when she is home in leave. Warm sunny south vs snowy wet gray woods, I think so!

He ended up staying home with me, and went and bought me, as he called it, "a not very romantical gift". NOT!! My valentine fed my quest to become an even better photographer and bought me a 70-300mm lens for my camera!! As if you guys don't get to see enough pictures of my world, it's only gonna get better! Now I can get those perfect shots from a distance...Watch Out! :) To make it even sweeter he offered to take me to the Zoo tomorrow to practice shooting! Somebody call the Zoo and tell them to wake up the animals, cause camera crazy Bev is on her way!

After the perfect gift, which also included my favorite Verona coffee, dark chocolate bars and chocolate covered cherries, we had a dinner, where I am pretty sure I consumed 2 days worth of calories, and we even had dessert, something neither of us NEVER do. (I did walk Emma twice today, and I keep trying to convince myself it will counteract those calories?!)

Stuffed we curled up, snuggled and watched The Biggest loser and both felt the shame of our dinner...Definitely one of my FAVORITE Valentine's Days. Mostly because we were together! I hope your was just as memorable and special and....
