Summertime...

Ice cold lemonade, sweet tea, fireflies and family. These are the things we think of when one mentions summertime. The balmy breeze, barking dogs, squealing, giggly kids, loud laughing adult conversations mixed with love and memories. Not only do we relive the old times but in the process we are making memories and etching these into the minds of our children and grandchildren.
It has been busy around here and my neighbors probably think I have the biggest family ever...you should see the parking situation. Now that I think about it,I should've taken a picture when all 8 cars surrounding our house. They were in the grass, around the side, the huge driveway was completely filled up...we couldn't have one more member with a vehicle.

Larissa has arrived....it only took her 22 hours. Her and the 2 kiddo's came for the festivities and to celebrate her and Dad's birthday. When your a kid the most exciting part of the drive between South Carolina and West Virginia is the 2 tunnels, UNTIL one tunnel gets shut down because of a tractor and traitor fire INSIDE the tunnel. Chelsea didn't think anything of her announcement that there was a fire inside the north bound/east river tunnel. I of course immediately thought of Rissa enroute...we texted her, and caught her about 2 hrs south of it. Needless to say they stopped and spent the night, then headed back out early Saturday.

The kids have ran, giggled, and the adults have talked and hugged and giggled some too.

We planned an adult only Birthday dinner for Larissa and secured not 2 but 3 adults to handle our rowdy bunch. Dinner was fantastic, and at my favorite local burger spot!

I'm thinking Larissa had a very Happy Birthday! Big burgers, presents and a surprise ice cream cake-seems heavenly to me! Remind me someday to tell you the story about the poop shoot...it's funny now, but at the time was quite traumatizing, for me anyways. :)
